THE JURY

The jury will invite the conductors of all participating choirs to a post competition breakfast to honor their efforts and to give encouragement and support fpr the further course of the choirs, which competed, offering council and friendship. The high professional reputation of the jury members is another distinction of the "Brahms Vienna International Competition". Time allowing Mr. Herwig Reiter, whose "Das kleine Halleluja" the choirs will have to master, will watch the cometition and is invited to the breakfast.

One aim of the competition is furthermore to bring Americans and Europeans in closer contact and exchange.

We also think that only Americans can really interpret a spiritual or Bernstein and we admire this. We also think that we live in the tradition of the music which was composed here. For instance the "Wiener Singakademie" was conducted by Brahms and still sings great music in the Konzerthaus, the Vienna music institution rivaling in glamour and fame the Musikverein. So participation in the competition is also a reaching our for this tradition and authenticity. Following Brahms as conductor of the "Singakademie" conductors and singers passed on this tradition as a precious gift.
