INVITATION TO THE "BRAHMS INTERNATIONAL CHOIR COMPETITION"

When Vienna in 2004 invited to an International Competition for Young Choral Directors, 75 conductors from 32 nations applied. The second price went to a fine American lady.

Now Brahms is inviting you to let him hear how choirs today are interpreting his music, which builds on Bach, Mozart and Beethoven and excells in Romanticism. 

Can you in the Brahms Saal, in the same building in which the the original of the "Deutsche Requiem" is kept, evoke Brahms at his best and thereby qualifying your choir as one, who can proudly sing Brahms in front of an international jury?

It is a coveted price to be won, where Brahms lived. And Vienna will inspire you to give your best. Brahms felt that Vienna was the place to be, where he was kindly welcomed and applauded in a 35 year stay composing his masterworks.
